Medis Suite CT

Medis Suite CT is a post-processing platform for cardiovascular CT that combines 3D viewing with quantitative analysis. Because it is vendor independent, a study acquired on any of the major scanners is analysed with the same workflow and the same tools, and the outputs are reproducible and exportable. On the course it is the platform shown in the worked examples for quantitative coronary analysis, plaque characterisation and CT-derived ventricular function. The principles taught apply whichever platform a delegate's own department uses.

What it does

• Quantitative coronary analysis (QAngio CT): automatic coronary tree extraction and segment labelling, with semi-automatic editing; stenosis quantification giving minimum lumen diameter and area, percentage stenosis and lesion length.
• Plaque characterisation: quantification of calcified, non-calcified and mixed plaque, and voxel-level attenuation analysis supporting identification of high-risk features such as low-attenuation plaque, positive remodelling and spotty calcification.
• Ventricular function on CT (QMass): chamber volumes, ejection fraction and mass from cardiac CT data, using the analysis engine long used for cardiac MR.
• CT-derived strain: left ventricular global longitudinal strain from cardiac CT, increasingly used in TAVI risk assessment.
